Yeeehaaa!

The wind wasn't quite westerly which menat I had to head out into the big stuff, and 'big' stuff is an understatement, it was monstrous out there today. Mast high waves all over the place and breaking waves as far as you could see.. Despite going miles out I never actually got out the back and there was always the chance of getting hit by a big wall of whitewater.

Thankfully there was plenty of wind so I was well powered with my 4.5m and able to cope with the huge swells. I did of course end up swimming now and then, but most of the time I was blasting around like a mad man! Lots of nice big jumps and some crazy rides down the faces of the waves to avoid the whitewater.

No one else out, and despite the sunshine non one on the beach either so going out too far was always a little un-nerving, but I had little choice half the time. The water was really rough and the waves closely spaced so findng time to gybe was a nightmare, which meant I just had to keep blasting out until I found a gap in the waves. All in all an adrenaline rush and a half!
